Update to 2025 Event Schedule and Future Pricing Change

After our first event back at Ye Olde Commons last month, their team reached out to express how wonderful our game was to have at their site; and offered us some additional weekends, which we have happily accepted!

Our previously scheduled in-person dates will stay the same; but we will now be running our formerly Virtual April and September events in-person.

April 18-20 (*same date as our originally scheduled virtual event)
September 19-21 (*different date than originally scheduled)

To be open with you all, more in-person events are a wonderful opportunity to continue running at a site that we love, telling stories together in a more personal way; and are a great way for us to connect as a community. However, in-person events come at a higher cost to run; and while our attendance numbers have been on the rise we haven't been hitting our goals to cover all of our operating costs.

In-person events are the foundation of our LARP, and where we see the most growth in our attendance. After crunching the numbers, and discussing amongst our Director team; we decided that taking on these additional rental weekends was worth pursuing. But it does require us to make some changes. Most of these changes will be occurring on the backend, but the one we want to make everyone aware of in advance is a change to our ticket pricing.

In order to cover our operating costs (including the additional in-person games) we are going to raise our ticket prices in line with standard pricing.

Starting with our September 2025 event- after our summer virtual events- Opt Out, 2hr casting, and 4hr casting tickets will each go up by $10.

The 4-hour (standard) casting ticket will be increasing from $75 to $85.
The 2-hour (minimum) casting ticket will be increasing from $95 to $105.
The casting opt-out ticket will be increasing from $110 to $120.
The total opt-out ticket will remain the same price, at $200
The 6-hour (maximum) casting ticket will remain the same price, at $45.
The 10-hour day ticket (with 2-hour casting) will remain the same price, at $35.
Online event tickets will remain the same price, at $55.
New Player (first game) tickets will remain the same price, at $35.
Extra Build will remain the same price, at $15 each.

This was not an easy decision for us to come to; we have always tried to make our events as financially accessible as possible to everyone who chooses to spend their weekends with us; but we also want to continue running events for as long as we can.

The opportunity to run more in-person events this year came to us because of how well we as a game and community helped take care of the site while we were there last month; and the joy and welcoming spirit we showed to YOC's team. It wouldn't have happened if not for the consideration, kindness, and fun you all bring every month.

We are so grateful to you, our players and community, for bringing that positivity every month; and are excited to continue these stories we're weaving together (not to mention in slightly warmer months!)
