Local Threats, Critters, and Creatures

In the world of Dystopia Rising, you will come across many types of creatures that exist all across the wasteland. Sometimes though, types of raiders, zombies, or other denizens of the wastes have a smaller area that they inhabit. Many settlements have creatures that aren’t found anywhere else in the wasteland- here are some of the ones that you’ll find in our chapter.

Zombies

River Hunter: An unique Hunter variant most commonly found in The Mass or very watery areas of the wastes. In downpours of rain this Hunter is able to hide within the rain fall. Its most deadly technique is its ability to quickly drown victims that it is able to drag to large bodies of water.

Mercy: These disquieting zed were healers and caretakers in life. In death they have maintained a calmness hat hides a menacing predatory skill set. Wielding the ability to paralyze living lineages, and being more formidable than most shambling undead a Mercy is not something the be disregarded amongst a horde.

Sunken Crawler: This waterlogged massive upper torso crawls unceasingly towards its target, smashing aside or consuming whole anything in its path, a slimy trail of viscera and ichor in its wake. It is currently unknown what conditions cause these monstrous undead to come on shore, or what they might be crawling towards.

The Spiteful dead: These voracious undead are not naturally occurring. The means to create them was thought to be lost with the destruction of a Grave Head known as Despair. Now they have begun to show up on the shores of the Oldest Port, almost always found near the devious Cult of The River Sworn.

Raiders

Critters

The Trophy-Taker: This Bear like critter has yet to be studied up close. What little is known of it has been reported to the Landsman’s department as follows. It has a level of intelligence in line with an Apex Predator, has shown capacity for both stealth and exceptional violence. It is also known to take pieces of its prey, constructing and leaving behind crude “trophies” and displays to mark its passage.

Others

Gravemind Whispers: The whispers of the Mortis become loud and distracting. Once per 12s your mind is flooded with these whispers. For the next 5 minutes and you only hear whispers of the Mortis you do not get the benefits of helpful "By My Voice" Calls.
